That was the moment I understood how love can silence a person. I was foolish enough, then and perhaps even now, to grasp the full weight of your question.  "Can I pretend that you are not in love with me? Just so I can speak to you. " I yearn to return and conjure a goodbye, fabricate the closure we never had.  Sometimes, I face reality in the sacred aisle of my love for you.
